When taking off or landing in a plane I love to look down on the ground below me. The colors of the land change everywhere you go. Oklahoma is mostly tones of brown, I recently realized, when I saw this, how beautiful I think tones of brown are. I love seeing countless baseball fields when I am taking off or landing in the United States. That is when I know I am home. Oh baseball fields, how glorious you are… how I miss spending summer nights with you already.

I cannot believe how quickly summer came and went. I am told that with age life passes faster, that if you are not careful you will close your eyes and when you open them again immense amounts of time will have passed. At twenty years of age I feel the reality of this statement weighing on me already.

God help me take life slowly but never fear. 
Help me relish the summer sun and never stop 
going to the places where I spent my childhood. 

I hope everyone had a great summer, I know I did. 


yesterday jayme bee and i went out for some famously 
good burgers at irma's.
of course we had to make a last run to cuppies and joe after.

yesterday was really rainy and great. 
sitting near the window at cuppies listening to the rain and
drinking a great chai tea latte was just divine.  
it was a great last trip to the city.



The other day my mom, our foster kid Cheyenne, and I went horse back riding
Cheyenne had never been on a horse before so we figured
it was worth braving the heat. 

Growing up I rode horses whenever I got a chance because
my mom used to ride horses when she was a kid too.
I really enjoy them. Mostly I enjoy running with them.


We stayed over night on our way back from Dallas and went to 
Turner Falls-- a famous swimming and waterfall area in Oklahoma. 
We had fun walking around and creeping on all the 
people there. I seriously felt like I was back in Mexico because of 
all the tan foliage and the fact that the majority of the people there 
were hispanic. 
We laid out and bought some chips. 
All in all, an interesting experience but not the height 
of my existence. 
Oh by the way, I got a new instax mini... 
sort of a new age polaroid with way cheaper film. 


Sarah, Jacki, Jayme and I took a trip to Dallas this weekend.
We went shopping. We ate cupcakes at Sprinkles.
and we ate at an all vegan restaurant called the Spiral Diner.

This really struck me today:

Today Jacki and I went swimming, 
soaked up some birthday rays. 

We all went and had Thai food
then we came back to my house for vegan cake and ice cream 
(Jacki is vegan).

Such a great day...
perhaps we will swim again tomorrow...
and every day until I leave?

Today is my best friend's birthday.
We have gone through so much together over the years,
including awkward stages (pictured above).
We have worn matching outfits from Sooner Fashion Mall.
We have become Christians together, we were friends even before. 
We have taken beach vacations together.
We have gone to Mexico, Africa, and Haiti together. 

I better stop naming things before you think I am co-dependent... 

Jacki, thank you for being amazing, for teaching me
what it means to be humble and kind (something I need to practice more).
I pray God blesses you abundantly and makes clear His path for your feet. 
I cannot thank you enough for your pure, kind, loving, 
giving, and servant-hearted
presence in my life and in the lives of others. 
You teach people just by living.
So happy 20th to my best friend ever.
I hope we spend many more birthdays together.
