(all photos from summer 2011)

how i long to lay in a hammock and let the warm breeze dance across my face.
i want to soak in the sunshine and dance in the sprinklers.
i want to listen to country music and lay on a blanket with my best friends.

most of all i want to hear the cicadas in the evening and sit on my porch swing
with my mom drinking iced tea.

summer, you can't come fast enough.

this weekend spent in winnipeg with my friend nova for recruitment
at missions fest manitoba was such a blast.

a few small things:
fun hotels, charming people for free goodies, million dollar/
life-changing cheese cake, laughing until crying, exhaustion,
exploring the exchange district, eating at stella's, starbucks, tim horton's,
making friends with fellow recruiters, falling asleep in inconvenient places,
being mobbed by sweaty teenagers for free cokes, and just having an all over
grand time.
nova and i both decided that people are kidding themselves when they
think that edmonton is better than winnipeg. such a cool historical city.

I am departing tomorrow early in the morn to go to Winnipeg
for a recruitment event. Everyone tells me Winnipeg is the worst
place on earth but I think Nova and I will make the most of it.

So here is a bit of fun for you while I am away...
I saw this video last night and died. It is so funny.

Happy weekend!

Sugar Bowl date with some girlfrans. Endless reading.
Saying goodbye to the Dynasty (car wreck style).
Guitar learning. Story telling. Movie watching at the Plex.

Overall, a successful weekend ending in an Africa meeting.
... and some intense reading.

i am happy to tell you all that i am traveling to africa again this
summer to assistant lead a team to malawi and uganda
with global youth missions!
i am beyond excited for this opportunity to return
to a place to close to my heart!

how beautiful are the feet of those who bring
the good news.

(You may be wondering why there are an over abundance
of cute animal photos posted on my blog and Facebook lately...
Basically my roommate blesses me with these wonderful mood lifters
daily via Facebook messaging)

An overdue ten things that make me terribly happy.

1. my clean room
2. my, for the most part, current productivity
3. our new couch (coming tomorrow) that was 50 dollars
4. this
5. perogie pizza
7. bake sales at school
8. how God has been shaping me daily
9. my amazing community of loved ones and people who
enrich my life daily.
10. my amazing school and the fact that i can learn about Jesus
without fear of persecution in this place

I see heaven, invading this place, I see angels, Praising Your Holy Name
And I sing praises, I sing praises, I give You honor, Worthy Jesus

I see Glory, Falling in this place
I see hope restored, healing of all disease
And I sing praises, I sing praises, I give You honor, Worthy Jesus

We give You Praise, and all of the Honor

You are our God, the one we live for

We give You Praise, and all of the Glory God

When Andrew told me he had found a New Orleans
joint right here in Edmonton I was very skeptical.
What do Canadians know about my beloved cuisine anyway?
Well they actually know quite a bit...
I was super impressed by Da De O's down on Whyte.
The food was so delicious and the atmosphere
was just swell. I felt like I was back in the Big Easy.
What a great outing!

Last night our church hosted their annual banquet.
We had a great time dressing up.
And we proceeded to get bubble tea after of course...
