Do believe a place can call out your name?

Roots.

Having bon fires, roasting marsh mellows with him.

Spending endless days playing make believe in the creek out back, us youngsters with such vast imaginations.

The taste of bagels, cream cheese, and orange juice in the morning will always take me back there.

The clinking of dishes around the Thanksgiving table.

The rare privilege of watching cable. A basket of knitting beside the couch.

Taking baths, the smell of Dial soap—the yellow bar kind, the spray shower head that he told me never to touch… And when I was older, years and years older, old enough to use it—I still didn’t, I stood firm in his request.

Watching the Macy’s day parade while she cooked in the kitchen. Flipping back and forth channels to get different views of the parade.

The deep freeze and the frozen “nutty buddies.”

The yellow ash tray.

And that big magnolia.

I never really cried when you left, but I am crying now my love.

Last night we had such a great time at a costume party! I wore my Giraffe mask that I acquired at the Bronx Zoo. The people that I came with were all dressed up as Lakers players.

The night took a turn when someone started playing worship music and we started to change out of our costumes and had a time of prayer. It was way powerful. Our singing filled the neighborhood.

We had such a fun time and such a great time worshipping and praying.

It was a good Halloween.

On Thursday we had the best chapel yet.
It went an hour over time because we were having such a radical time full of prayer, worship, and testimonies.
A guy in my program who was partially blind was legitimately healed. He got up on stage and read from his bible, hands outstretched. It was so amazing.
I have never been apart of something like what happened in Chapel on Thursday.
The presence of God was so huge in that room, I will never forget it.

I love an excuse to stomp my feet. This is why I love the snow right now. You always have to stomp your feet before you walk in somewhere.

On another note.

Why has my Diana become just another decoration on my wall? I must take her out and show her a good time.

Packed and ready to leave for the North West Territories tomorrow (the province right above Alberta).

My team of seven is working on a native reserve. We will be teaching in schools, putting on a couple programs in the local church, doing manuel labor in the church, and just hanging out with people.

It is supposed to snow on Saturday in Fort Smith. And, yes, they have actual Polar Bears in the NWT...
