Yesterday evening Maddy, Erin, and I went exploring in our future home, Andrews House. We discovered our beautiful future back yard, somewhat of a secret garden. All the flowers and green grass were amazing. Good thing we have amazing windows in our hall to look out in our beautiful garden next year.

Last night my friend Zoe had an art opening for her sculpture class. It amazes me the talent that students at our school possess. There were a lot of neat and creative sculptures all made by students from SLC. I treasure the art centered community that Sarah Lawrence has and I feel that art is something we must all learn to show our appreciation for, it is one thing that truly makes life beautiful.

Sheash! That took me a million years to transfer my past blogs to this site. Anyway! Here it is! The new and improved! I am still figuring out some kinks! Enjoy!

On days like today I sit in my room and listen to the rain softly hit my big bay windows in a pitter patter like way.

I love rain. I love the way it smells and the way it makes me feel... The way it makes the world feel so small after it is over.

So for today I will sit inside with my windows open and listen to the rain.

Now that the infamous housing lottery is over we know our rooming assignments for next year!

Courtney and I are in Andrews House 201 with Maddy and Erin right across the hall.

Our beautiful entry way.

Next year is going to be great! I can't wait!

This morning at brunch AVI was giving out sweet basil seeds.

Needless to say we took them and planted them on our lawn and promised to come back to this spot next year to see how much (if any) our plants have grown.

Odette.

We love the earth!

There was a school wide free BBQ on the North lawn yesterday hosted by PETA ("People Eating Tastey Animals") in defiance of all the vegetarians and vegans at Sarah Lawrence. But they served veggie burgers as well of course.

There was a great band, good free food, and awesome Sarah Lawrence people.

Our school is unlike any other. And I wouldn't trade that for anything.

Despite the colossal amount of work I have due tomorrow life is so great. Friends make school worthwhile... and the fact that I would rather not work at McDonalds when I grow up. But recently I realized how great all my friends here at SLC truly are. I am so thankful for each one of them, even those whom I haven't gotten to know very well yet. I came to the realization that being buried in books and articles is worth it, if I get to be surrounded by great friends. And I think this can apply to anything in life. The sun always outshines the rain. So on that note, here is a polaroid taken of my best friends here at SLC after small group last Thursday night.

This week is earth week and SLC is having tons of events to inspire love and friendliness to the earth. Today was a clothing swap drive. Basically you clean out your old junk and bring it to the Tea Haus and swap your junk for other people's junk. It was a lot of fun to go and look through a lot of neat things. I gave away some old clothes and in return got a SWEET Lava Lamp!!!

Here are some photos of the groovy lamp I got and some other random things around my room.

Happy earth week!

Recently I have found myself laying awake in bed when I should be sleeping. So many thoughts are continually racing through my head. I wish my brain would just be quiet so I could sleep. I am just too excited for the future and all that it brings.

Things I can't stop thinking about...

1. Traveling to Haiti this summer.

2. My brother and how proud I am of him.

3. Getting conference work done.

4. Decorating my new dorm next year.

5. Shopping on Saturday.

6. Playing with and getting to know my new camera.

7. Growing my hair out.

8. SUMMER.

9. How much I love my small group.

10. The free time I will have once my conference work is done.

Life is just too exciting to sleep! BUT I have a French test tomorrow morning at 9am. So I must try!

Here are some photos from Sunday afternoon.

Erin read her poetry at our school's poetry festival. A select group of undergrad students read their poetry at this festival along with graduate students and famous poets.

These two photos were taken by Zoe with my camera on the way to Trinity Grace church Sunday night.

Here are two random pictures that make me happy.

This is the Tea Haus. A favorite place of mine on the SLC campus where you can hang out, drink tea, and sometimes jam to live music.

This is a garden in Bronxville that makes me happy every time I walk past it. I went on a walk the other day to clear my head and get away from school work and took this picture.

On Saturday night we went out to a restaurant in the village called Congee Village for my friend Teresa's birthday-- by far the best Chinese food I have ever had.

It was so great to be surrounded by such amazing people.

Such a great night with good friends. I am in love with the village and SOHO. Can't believe it is already Sunday. And already only four more weeks left here.
