Yesterday Maria, Brittany and I went on an adventure
around Edmonton.

First, we went to Cora's and had brunch... complete with Spanish lessons
from Maria's father. Then off to Whyte Ave to enjoy the beautiful weather.
(not even a coat for me!)

We walked around in the sun and went into the funky little shops.
Coffee at Block 1912 was quite entertaining
due to the amounts of caffeine and sugar consumed.

What a great day with great friends.

I have two sections left of my giant
hang-over-your-head-for-months research paper
for psychology,
so I decided why not just waste time writing some little letters?
I miss writing little letters and I decided that I need to reinstate said practice
along with something I like to call "happy lists".

(instax from my time in ontario this summer)

dear running shoes,
i love that you are brightly colored and motivate me
to actually do physical activity.

dear oreos and gummies,
goodbye.

dear summer,
when are you getting here?
i am patiently (or not so patiently)
waiting for you.

dear skirts,
how i long to wear you with no tights underneath.

dear instax,
when summer comes you and i shall be
inseparable.

dear sushi,
lets go on a date... soon?

dear blanket,
i cannot wait to sprawl you out on the grass and lie
on you in the sunshine.

dear pinkberry,
you and me kid, the second i get to
new orleans.

FACT: I could really use a midnight breakfast right now...
one thing I miss about Sarah Lawrence.

About a year ago I had a family member email me about katie.
My cousin said that I reminded her of she.
Ironically enough I stumbled across her blog a year later.

I find inspiration here.
A refreshing point of view from a girl who is living
out my very dreams even at such a young age.

Go have a read.
Gain some perspective.
And be inspired by the words of this young woman
who is so like Christ.

"I can pour out because I know you fill up. I drink from a well that never runs dry. You are abundantly available to me, ever drawing me closer. You call me into communion with you and I am filled with your life over flowing even in the driest, hardest of seasons. You exchange my lack for your abundance, Christ in me the only hope of glory. Christ in me is enough. Christ with me is enough. Christ on that cross and risen for me is enough. You are enough, Jesus."

The snow is melting (yet again),
the sun is out... and my nails happen to be a
bright orange (...thought it was salmon) color.

Just reminiscing about what I was doing this time last year.
1. a beach feast in southern thailand 2. roti and curry every morning in thailand
3. the harbor in bai hai, china. 4. making pancakes with my hands in fu cheng, china
5. strawberry picking with my billets in bai hai 6. guilin tourism in china 7. boats in guilin
8. chris and i bought shirts with our faces on them in guilin china... the likeness is uncanny.

last night i was woken up by a text from my roommate
telling me to get on my computer because andrew was online
and had asked her to wake me up.
so i woke up at 1:30 am (afternoon for him) and we got to
skype for an hourwhat a delight. i feel so lucky
and blessed to be able to talk to him.

they are off to thailand next.
follow their journey here.

i ran across this hilarious video made for mission of hope
(the place i lived in haiti for two months).
i love seeing all my kids and laughing at this hilarious
video idea. i hope you enjoy it as much as i did.

it seems that everyone in my home country is celebrating spring
weather while i am stuck gazing out the window wishing
i could bust out the sandals and shorts.

will the day ever come?

in other news, we are seeing this tonight.
and listening to this non-stop.

just laying on my living room floor in front of our giant
windows soaking up the sun.

the weather has been great here!
not as great as home, obviously, but warm enough not to wear a
big puffy coat!

the snow is melting!
there is hope for a warm and sunny future.

"Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet, I tell you
not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these."
Luke 12:27

i realize there has been a major lack of posting on my part in the past few weeks.
life has just been a whirlwind.

i have had a lot of reading to do and i even took a midterm today...
but mostly i have been busy because my favorite guy, andrew,
 left for asia yesterday.
(...wow, was it really only yesterday? i feel like it has
been a year and i want him to come back home)
so in the past few weeks we have been hanging out as much as possible.

even though i miss all the asia team i know this is an opportunity for me
to grow and really seek God for comfort in my time of loneliness.

current information:
i have been sick with a nasty cold for a couple of days which is never fun.
we completed a hilarious english project video that
i cannot wait to show everyone.
i am so excited for the season finale next week of the bachelor.
and i have to write an entire paper tomorrow.

so here's to keeping myself busy and to spending more time
in prayer this next month.
april 7th could not come faster.

This is my prayer in the desert
When all that's within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides

This is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flame

This is my prayer in the battle
When triumph is still on its way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I'll stand

All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship

This is my prayer in the harvest
When favor and providence flow
I know I'm filled to be emptied again
The seed I've received I will sow
