Great night!! My parents are in town and I am spending all day with them tomorrow.

I am sitting at my desk after a day of rain with a cup of tea. The cold air from the open windows is brushing over my tea cup sweeping the steam away reminding me of London with Elizabeth and Jacki and our little hotel room. This morning I laid in bed with all the windows open and the sound of rain rocking me into relaxation. I had dinner tonight with a really great friend named Zoe, she inspires me. The ground is covered with leaves and the rain makes them extra bright against the darkness of the pavement and trees. My parents and brother are coming the day after tomorrow, I have missed them so. When the wind blows the leaves fly into the air and it is absolutely beautiful. I am listening to great music constantly on account of the folk festival I went to last weekend and the great CDs I bought. Tonight is a movie night with Maddy, Molly, and Odette-- Halloween movies. The Holiday season is almost here and with it comes anticipation of the new year and all that it brings. I thank God for this beautiful life He has given me and all the people I get to meet and all the things I am experiencing. I couldn't have asked for a better place to be and to learn about life and to make great friends and to see the world through different eyes.

Today Courtney and I baked a cake!

And took pictures of the nice fall leaves around campus.

100_1128Our final product! It was awesome!

Yesterday my friend  Courtney and I went to Manhattan to shop and go out to eat.

We forgot a map.

We went to a lot of cool places and I introduced her to China Town and all its glory where we successfully bought many purses.

After China town we tried to find our way to Century 21, a really cool store with way marked down designer clothes. Needless to say we were without a map so we went all the way to South Fairy/White Hall.. Woops. A nice bum who was talking to himself on the subway helped us out and told us the next stop was Brooklyn.

We finally made it to Century 21 by sheer luck seeing as we had no idea where we were going and the stop we needed to get off at was no longer existent. We spent like four hours there on Courtney's behalf. I didn't buy anything (aren't you proud mom!)

After that we proceeded to get back on the subway...

What happened this time? We went to Brooklyn..

After we found our way back we tried to go to Alice's Tea Cup! ... It was closed...

So we went to this really fancy restaurant on Columbus called City .. Grill... Or Cafe or something along those lines! It was sooo good!

It was such a great day!!

10 more days until my parents and brother are here!!

Yesterday we spent all day in the city shopping, walking around, etc!

100_1073These were some really cool guys in the subway singing in a barber shop style-- It was so good.

100_1074Nour and Emily at Starbucks trying to avoid the freezing cold.

100_1081On our way to Buffalo Exchange! My new favorite store in the city!!

100_1085Nour loves comic books... And had a minor freak out when she saw this while on the phone with her little brother who also happens to love comic books...

100_1087

100_1089Last night after Buffalo Exchange we went to St. Mark's Place.. Which is a sketchy bong selling, tattoo and body piercing, bar sceneish place. Emily got her ear pierced for very cheap in a really sketchy situation by a guy who may or may not have known what he was doing... Yes we went in to a tiny room with him... Aren't you glad I resisted the temptation to get a piercing (mom).

Late last night we met up with a bunch of friends for Lebanese food (Nour is from Lebanon). It was so freaking amazing and yummy and we had so many people there and were clogging up the restaurant. It was truly amazing but very expensive (worth it)!

Over all the night was amazing! As for today... It is raining and I am in my Happy Holidays pajamas eating peanut butter and drinking tea contemplating doing my French homework.

More city adventures tomorrow due to the four day weekend!

Have a great day!
