Since we were in Brussels we decided to have lunch and
explore. I love Brussels. From the little I saw I like it
better than Germany! Brussels is a French speaking
city which I considered a major perk since I took French
for a while and I don't know a lick of German.

We had a GREAT Belgium waffle and
chocolate covered strawberries.

The architecture was amazing!
(...but not as amazing as Edmonton, which has
the best architecture of all time...! (that statement
is dripping with irony for those of you who have not
experienced the glory of Canada's ugliest city
... sorry, that was harsh))

also... this is the cutest.
also... finished these books.

Today a master plan played out.
I awoke early to drive to the Brussels, Belgium airport.

I got to see Andrew for a small amount of time on his
way to Rwanda and then off to DRCongo.

Insane. Spur of the moment. Can't believe it actually worked.

Follow his journey working with a micro financing program for
women, as well as teaching english here.

Just a small update from Germany.
Enjoying the weather and exploring around our area.
Yesterday we went to Aachen, the burial place of Charlemagne.
So exciting to see Church History come to life...
I know everyone hated the class but I loved it.

Popped over to the Netherlands.
Tomorrow Belgium, with high hopes for a master plan.

Splashing our feet in the Mississippi.
Such water flows through my veins and
twists through my roots.

Old Man River.

Here, it seems we only have
lakes and rivers that are this color... I have been spoiled
by Canadian blue-ness and clarity.

The sound of the river boat, then a giant wave splashing
upon the dock. We ran. Laughing. Sopping wet.

Southern summers are a delicate thing that few get to
experience. A delicate thing that you spend your whole
life trying to re-create. I am sure of it.

I am thankful for the roads I have walked down each summer
...and those I will walk down in my mind, forever.

I clearly had way too much fun to blog while I was
basking in the Louisiana sun. Every day was
filled with fun and adventure!

A few things we did: had breakfast at Brennan's, walked around
the French Quarter, explored the French Market, gave tips to street
performers, found a gem of a used book store, wandered the
Garden District, went to Oak Alley plantation
heard tons of ghost stories, and most amazingly...
went boating in the bayou.

Every day I thank God for you and how you have influenced me and
raised me. I pray that through my life you would, in return, be influenced.
I hope that I make you proud by striving to see the world
through God's eyes.

I pray that I can go above and beyond where you and Grammie
have gone in your attempts to change this world for the better.

Every day I am thankful.
Every day I love you.

Oh, how He fills me.
My Lord is above me and all around me.
He wipes away all my tears and the mud that covers my being.
His mercy and grace are never failing and never run dry.
His Spirit is love that has, indeed, been poured into my heart.
Oh mighty Counselor, Paraclete, I will follow you all of my days.
I live to see Heaven invade earth.
Lord, let there be healing of all pain and disease.
Let my small footprints fall inside yours, oh Jesus.
Let nothing hinder me from proclaiming Your name, Your
peace, Your joy, and Your truth.

On earth as it is in Heaven.

i camped in the mountains for a bit last week with a great group of people.
it was unbelievable to explore God's amazing creation.
we enjoyed: a mossy field, carving wooden utensils, sitting by the fire,
exploring the town of Jasper, eating in the river bed, and taking in the
most amazing scenery. i have always been a fan of camping but camping in
the mountains is just a whole other ball game (in a great way).
most of us go to the mountains every year for our missions program retreat
but we all agreed that it is more relaxing to go without people forcing you to
jump of cliffs and run entire field lengths lugging fire wood (pretty HC stuff).

cheers to a wonderful weekend in the mountains.

coming up in the next couple weeks:
The Black Keys concert
(which my mom heard over the phone as "the black peas")
on Saturday! THEN off the New Orleans to meet up with the family.
