Last night all the girls in Lynd were invited to Karen Lawrence's house, the president of SLC, for a nice dinner. It was so much fun and President Lawrence is so sweet and cute. She lives in the presidents house that was bought by the campus in the fourties but was built long before that. It is a pretty, HUGE english house with amazing hand crafted wood work. We had orderves in the sitting room and then moved into the dining room for a great dinner. It was SO fun to get to dress up and go to a nice dinner. The president was genuine and caring, learning all of our names and talking to us about our experience at SLC so far. It was great!

If you are wondering why we are at the president's house... It is a tradition for all first years to go eat dinner with her so she can get to know you and hear what improvements she needs to make on campus. Also our RAs get to come.. I am considering being an RA next semester just to be able to go again!

I love Sarah Lawrence College!

  1. Very cool. That's the advantage of a small college. If freshmen at OU want, they can see the president from a distance, or they can try to get in his Political Science class, and he does care what they think. But with 3,500 or so, it's hard to dine with each! Love, Dad
