we went kayaking to the rope swing one day and
unexpectedly met up with a friend.
a storm rolled in just as we were kayaking home even though it
was a little scary the sky was very beautiful.
on our last day we played a lot of games and
constantly talked about how sad we were to leave.
hopefully i will see you again next year manitoulin.
[mitchel, levi, and lyle. leeanna, me, and brock]
we spent a lot of our time at a rope swing whilst on the island.
the surrounding area had such beautiful rocks and water.
there was a platform you could jump off of but
we mostly stuck to swinging off the tree itself.
some of the funniest things happened while down at the
rope swing... one of them depicted in the first picture,
brock landing on leeanna
in the water and almost breaking her arm.
just sitting on the rocks watching while my friends swung into the water
(i only did it a few times because apparently i suck at that
sort of thing) was something i will treasure forever.
last night i arrived in toronto.
we ate asian food in china town and then met up with
a lot of friends from school.
at night we drove back to leeanna's house.
mitchel, brock, leeanna, and i lounged on a dock near leeanna's house.
it is so nice to be back with some of my best friends ever.
today we are going to leeanna's cottage.
a week without power here we come.
this weekend was so great!
last night I met up with a bunch of friends from vanguard
and went to eat. we eventually ventured back to my
apartment and had one of those great late night talks
that happens to frequently with these amazing people.
today brought the perfect weather. not too cold or too hot. just right...
something i have not experienced in a long time.
i am staying the night at marissa's parent's house tonight.
we laid out in the grass after dinner out on the deck and
soaked up the sun.
we also made a fire and roasted s'mores.
classic times in edmonton...
too bad it is rarely this nice, eh?
according to my instax mini.
off to ontario tomorrow so i probably won't be posting
for almost two weeks!
When taking off or landing in a plane I love to look down on the ground below me. The colors of the land change everywhere you go. Oklahoma is mostly tones of brown, I recently realized, when I saw this, how beautiful I think tones of brown are. I love seeing countless baseball fields when I am taking off or landing in the United States. That is when I know I am home. Oh baseball fields, how glorious you are… how I miss spending summer nights with you already.
I cannot believe how quickly summer came and went. I am told that with age life passes faster, that if you are not careful you will close your eyes and when you open them again immense amounts of time will have passed. At twenty years of age I feel the reality of this statement weighing on me already.
God help me take life slowly but never fear.
Help me relish the summer sun and never stop
going to the places where I spent my childhood.
I hope everyone had a great summer, I know I did.
yesterday jayme bee and i went out for some famously
good burgers at irma's.
of course we had to make a last run to cuppies and joe after.
yesterday was really rainy and great.
sitting near the window at cuppies listening to the rain and
drinking a great chai tea latte was just divine.
it was a great last trip to the city.
it was a great last trip to the city.
The other day my mom, our foster kid Cheyenne, and I went horse back riding
Cheyenne had never been on a horse before so we figured
it was worth braving the heat.
Growing up I rode horses whenever I got a chance because
my mom used to ride horses when she was a kid too.
I really enjoy them. Mostly I enjoy running with them.
We stayed over night on our way back from Dallas and went to
Turner Falls-- a famous swimming and waterfall area in Oklahoma.
We had fun walking around and creeping on all the
people there. I seriously felt like I was back in Mexico because of
all the tan foliage and the fact that the majority of the people there
were hispanic.
We laid out and bought some chips.
All in all, an interesting experience but not the height
of my existence.
Oh by the way, I got a new instax mini...
sort of a new age polaroid with way cheaper film.
