this week leeanna and i lounged about with the
exception of working a couple stations at missions fest alberta.

we went to the mall, went to eat, went to the zoo and
watched movies. this morning we took her to the airport.

what a great relaxing break with loved ones.

I spent my 21st birthday at Disney Land in California with
my mom, brother, and cousin.

What a dream.
We went on some classic rides, witnessed the best
light show of all time and dined at Ariel's Gratto.

It was so great to spend my birthday with family
letting loose my inner child (like I ever hold it back..).

last night was just a dream valentine's day experience.
andrew planned the whole thing and wouldn't tell me (i love surprises).
to start the night he took me to a really great indian restaurant
with a live sax player. we enjoyed eating great curry and mango pudding.

then we drove across the river. i had no idea where we were going but
he told me we were going back in time.. curious...
we enter a park and then suddenly we are in the 1920s (my favorite fashion era)!
this entire street was built as if to look like you were waltzing down a
1920s boulevard. a giant theater lit up the whole dark street.
playing in the theater was casablanca.
he pulled out tickets and we took our seats in the dream.

i have to admit i almost teared up because it was so perfect.
when i came home and talked to my roomie (who knew the plan before)
she told me that when andrew told her his plan she thought
"what?! did he get inside her head or something? perfect!"

as if that was not good enough he brought me cupcakes and
a milkshake today because my day was going sort of poorly.

this man is a gem.

(all photos from summer 2011)

how i long to lay in a hammock and let the warm breeze dance across my face.
i want to soak in the sunshine and dance in the sprinklers.
i want to listen to country music and lay on a blanket with my best friends.

most of all i want to hear the cicadas in the evening and sit on my porch swing
with my mom drinking iced tea.

summer, you can't come fast enough.

this weekend spent in winnipeg with my friend nova for recruitment
at missions fest manitoba was such a blast.

a few small things:
fun hotels, charming people for free goodies, million dollar/
life-changing cheese cake, laughing until crying, exhaustion,
exploring the exchange district, eating at stella's, starbucks, tim horton's,
making friends with fellow recruiters, falling asleep in inconvenient places,
being mobbed by sweaty teenagers for free cokes, and just having an all over
grand time.
nova and i both decided that people are kidding themselves when they
think that edmonton is better than winnipeg. such a cool historical city.

I am departing tomorrow early in the morn to go to Winnipeg
for a recruitment event. Everyone tells me Winnipeg is the worst
place on earth but I think Nova and I will make the most of it.

So here is a bit of fun for you while I am away...
I saw this video last night and died. It is so funny.

Happy weekend!
